A Meditation for Presence
From 'Hands of Light' by Barbara Ann Brennan:
Sit comfortably, preferably with your back straight.
Pay attention to your breathing.
Breathe in and breathe out.
With each in breath, breathe in the future and all its potent possibilities. As you breathe out, breathe out the past and all that went with it.
Simply breathe in the future and breathe out the past. For what you breathe in is the future and what you breathe out is the past.
Let the past go.
Breathe in the future and all you wish to create.
Breathe out the past and all those false limitations you place upon yourself.
The future does not have to have anything to do with the past. Let the past go.
Continue to breathe in the future and breathe out the past.
See all of your past going out behind you and the future coming towards you.
See your past lifetimes flowing out behind you and your future lifetimes flowing toward you.
Breathe in the future and out the past.
Watch the flow of time and see yourself as the central point of consciousness. You are the central point of consciousness and experience moves by you.
You sit in the centre of reality. That you is unchanging. You exist outside the boundaries of time.
Now, in that moment between the in breath of the future and the out breath of the past there is a pause.
It is in that moment of pause between breaths when you will slip into the eternal now.
